清理雅虎邮箱中德旧邮件，发现04年8月翻译完《查泰莱夫人的情人》时出版社告诉我这书又不能出了，给一个来华讲课的老同学的信中丧气又不乏希望地说：现在翻译这书就是为了加深对作品的理解而已，那时真觉得没希望了，但还是坚持做完了这书。

 Hi, xx, thanks for briefing me about your lectures.I'll try to find time to attend some of them. I'm sure these will be enriching experiences.
      For the time being, we are helping my xx get rid of the clutches of the deadly disease and at the same time I'm finishing the last few chapters of Lady Chatterley though it was offically prohibited recently: I'm doing it simply for the sake of doing it or "deepening "my undersstanding of the book.

当日还发给Xu兄一信，亦是同样心境：

    就算我是完成了一本翻译作业。因为目前不能出版，我反倒有足够的时间经常修改译文，使它真正成为优秀译文，将来出版时对得起读者。目前反倒是有点为合同赶时间，文字还有点粗。或许这对我是好事也未可知。

不久又给X一封信：

     我花了整整九个月翻译查泰莱，反正按时交稿了，他们很头疼。我本想主动“不按时交稿“，让他们按违约处理算了，大家全解脱，可这几个人还真是好心肠，一定要我如约交。从而创造一点历史。
