伊朗逮捕两名中国“间谍”

伊朗官方昨日表示，两名中国人在伊朗被捕，并遭到间谍指控。

伊朗司法部发言人阿里"礼萨"贾姆希迪(Ali Reza Jamshidi)表示，这两个人正接受间谍指控的“初步调查”。此前，他们拍摄了德黑兰西南部阿拉克地区“军事与核设施”的静态与动态图象。

伊朗正在阿拉克修建一个重水核研究反应堆，并声称这是出于该国农业和医疗发展的需要。不过，美国和以色列认为这会让伊朗得以开发钚核弹。

贾姆希迪表示，这两名中国人是从基什岛进入伊朗的。基什是伊朗南部海岸以外的一个岛屿，颇受旅游者欢迎，是一个免税贸易区。

伊朗与中国的关系正在发生变化。今年头六个月，伊朗向中国供应的原油增加了24%，6月份达到了每日56.7万桶。而由于伊朗以观察员身份出席上海合作组织(SCO)会议，两国的政治关系也得到了加强。上海合作组织的成员国包括俄罗斯、中国和四个中亚国家。

Two Chinese nationals have been arrested in Iran and charged with spying, authorities in Tehran said yesterday,.

Alireza Jamshidi, a spokesman for the Iranian judiciary, said the two were facing “preliminary investigation” on charges of espionage after taking still and moving pictures of “military and nuclear facilities” in the region of Arak, south-west of Tehran.

Iran is building a heavy-water nuclear research reactor at Arak, which it says is needed for the country's agricultural and medical development but which the US and Israel say could allow it to develop a plutonium nuclear bomb.

Mr Jamshidi said the two Chinese nationals had entered Iran through Kish, an island off the southern coast which is popular with tourists and is a free-trade zone.

Tehran's relationship with Beijing is changing. Iran's supply of crude oil to China rose 24 per cent in the first six months of the year, reaching 567,000 barrels a day in June. Political links have also been bolstered by Iran's attendance as an observer at meetings of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation, which brings together Russia, China and four central Asian republics.
