Finally,this afternoon I finished the job to translate the report: Beijing's Water Crisis. It's not easy for me because there are many data and terms in this report, some sentences are so strange and long.

Slavek is a guy from Poland working for Probe. He is a shy man, his face even became red when he talked to me first time, that's my first time to be in office of Probe, shouldn't I be nervous? And that's my first time to be abroad , as a matter of fact. But do you know how long Slavek have been in Canada? I wondered that. Maybe he is also just new to this country. I found that his English obviously had a kind of dialect/accent, it should be Polish accent.

Slavek is a very kind man. His job is to maintain  all the computers in the office. "Everything is ok? Can you connect to the internet?" Every time he passed by and would asked me. "Ok, thank you." I nodded and smiled. He smiled and his face turned reddish.

It's eight P.M. now. Today is Friday,weekend, most of people have left the office now. "Do you have any plan for  weekend?" Slavek comes to me.  Amazingly, he smiles ,so relax, no reddish face. And he talks with me for more than one quarter. He tells me he has been here for 18 years! He has four children, the youngest one already is 11 years old! He ever met a Chinese friend in Toronto many years ago, but he lost contact with that Chinese student later. Maybe I remind him of the memory about that friend. I feel that Slavek is not nervous at this time. Probably it is because no others are here in weekend's office, maybe it is because he begins to treat me as friend.

In Toronto, you can meet people who came from everywhere of the world, and you can hear all kinds of English with different accents. So I become more and more confident about my bad English.
