It's Saturday today. I went to China town to buy ingredients for dinner, I would make dinner for Pat's family. That's a risk for me. I bought fish/ginger/garlic and some other ingredients I didn't know their English names. In China Town, there are some street vendors just like in China,  they all are old women selling some vegetables and bonsai. In China Town's market, you needn't to speak English, you can get anything by speaking Chinese (mandarin or Cantonese). You can see a lot of products in China Town just like in China. Chinese maybe is the best seller in the world. Many Canadians come to China Town for shopping. There are more abundant products in China Town, but usually also bit of mess, you have to admit. I like this kind of mess, as a matter of fact, it is taste of Chinese life.

It proved that my fish dish was a big success. Pat/Larry and their two lovely daughters loved my fish. After dinner, I made tea for them. I took the tea and a set of tea cups for them from China. We talked about pirate in China. Larry and Pat wondered why there were so many pirates in China. And I tried to explain to them why I thought a lot of Chinese were more open than western people. The point is that a lot of Chinese, especially the Chinese intellectuals, they can see the advantage of western culture and would like to learn from outside, but I feel that few of  western people can understand the oriental  culture as a whole without prejudice, usually they prefer to see the negative information about China to prove their fixed impression. I did not express myself clearly at that time.
