今天要教大家一个口语上很实用的用法,You bet! 
「你说的一点都没错!」、「当然!」的意思。

You bet! 也等於 'Of course.'、'Sure.' 和 'Certainly.',是 yes 的加强说法。
我们来从对话中看看如何使用:

情境一:
Amy: The new teacher seems to be very nervous.
Bill: You bet.
艾咪:新老师似乎很紧张。
比尔:你说的一点也没错。

情境二:
Amy: Will you go to the movies with me?
Bill: You bet!
艾咪:你要和我去看电影吗?
比尔:那当然!

注意:
imagine 须以名词丶that 子句或动名词作受词。而imaginable 则通

☆上列对话中, 'I didn't make the soccer team.'句中的make 是及物动词, 表『获选成为⋯⋯的一员』, 是个很重要的用法。

1. opportunity n. 机会, 时机
* opportunity 在原句作不可数名词, 但一般都作可数名词。
例: When the economy is healthy, there are more job
opportunities.
(经济蓬勃发展时,就会有更多的就业机会。)
2. knock vi. 敲 ( 门) & vt. 敲, 击
knock sb out  把某人击昏
* knock 在原句中为come ( 来) 之意。
Prosperity makes friends; adversity tries

发达时会招来朋友,患难时则考验朋友。
解说:
1. prosperity n. 发达; 兴盛
prosper vi. 繁荣; 发达; 兴盛
prosperous a. 兴隆的
例: During the Industrial Revolution, the West prospered.
(工业革命期间,西方兴盛起来。)
The old mining town has now become a prosperous tourist
spot.
Have no friends not equal to yourself.
无友不如己者
解说:
1. 本句为祈使句, 等於 “You should have no friends that are not
equal to yourself.” ( 你不应交那些比不上你自己的朋友。)
2. equal a. 相当的; 平等的 & n. 同等的事物, 对手
be equal to...  胜任⋯⋯
= be cut out for...
= be competent for...
例: The boss fired him because he was not equal to the job.
