（河南一）社旗县山陕会馆 Henan 1 The Shanshan assembly hall in Sheqi county

1《河南社旗县山陕会馆》山陕会馆位于南阳地区社旗县城中心。这是一座相当雄伟壮观的古代建筑群。过去这里水陆交通发达，南船北马，商人云集，是南北九省过往要道和货物集散地，有街72条。清乾隆年间，曾和朱仙镇、回郭镇、荆紫关镇并列为“河南四大名镇”。当时，秦晋两省富商大贾，为了叙乡谊，通商情，接官迎仕，祭神求财，积资建造这座 会馆。会馆分照壁、悬鉴楼、大拜殿、春秋楼四个主体建筑。“运巨石于楚湘，访名匠于天下”，连烧制的琉璃瓦也是来自秦晋。从乾隆二十年开始，至光绪二十八年建

成，历时137载。
The Shanshan assembly hall in Sheqi county of Henan The hall is located in the centre of the county and is a quite majestic ancient building. In the past，the transport developed very well not only at sea but also on the land. The main transport in south was boat and in north was horse. That time many businessmen gathered here because it was the key channel and the distribution centre of nine provinces in south and north. There were 72 streets. During the ruling of Emperor Qianlong in Qin dynasty the Sheqi county was considered as one of the four famous counties in Henan together with Zhuxian，Huiguo and Jingzi. That time the rich from Qin and Jin province built the hall for promoting their friendship and business. They also used this hall for worship. And the hall was devided into four main parts.They are Showing wall，Xuanjian house，Dabai hall and the spring and autumn house.“The building materials were from Chuxiang，the famous architects from worldwide” Besides，the glass tiles came from Qin and Jin. It lasted 137 years from the beginning in Qianlong to the end in Guangxu period.

2《走进山陕会馆》一进会馆大门，这里曾经是山陕商人的聚集地，大气巍然，古色古香的会馆格局令人叹为观止！彰显了当时山陕商人的身份和气派。
Close to Shanshan assembly hall As soon as you walk into the gate，you will be surprise at the spectacular and grandness of the hall. The style could show the identity and status of the businessmen in Shanshan that time.

3《照壁》照壁是仿北京故宫九龙壁修建的。高20米，宽13米，用彩釉陶瓷大方砖砌成。上面遍制浮雕，工艺精巧，色彩绚丽，美不胜收。只有山陕商人才有这样的胆量和实力，将皇家的照壁复制到这里。
The Showing Wall The Showing Wall was imitated from Nine dragons Wall of the Imperial Palace in Beijing with a height of 20 meters and a width of 13 meters. The construction material were ceramics and bricks which were carved with colorful and exquisite relief. Only the businessmen in Shanshan had such great courage and ability that they successfully copied the royal style.

4《铁旗杆》重5万余斤高28米的铁旗杆，顶有仙鹤展翅欲飞，下有巨龙盘绕而上，铸工极其考究。
The flagpole The flagpole made of rail has a weight of more than 25,000 kg and a height of 28 meters. It was carved with flying cranes at the top and great circled dragons in the bottom. So super the skills are!

5《会馆的气势如虹》So grand the momentum of the hall is

6《悬鉴楼》悬鉴楼,高 30 米，东西宽17米，分上、中、下三层。环楼上下均有木雕石刻的神话传说、戏曲故事装饰，技法多变，形象传神。楼的后边是演戏台，由四根大方柱把巨大的三层楼凌空擎起，甚为壮观。飞檐下金龙缠绕的“悬鉴楼”巨匾，苍劲古朴，堪称一绝。
Xuanjian house Xuanjian house has three floors with a height of 30 meters and a width of 17 meters from East to West. The central house is decorated with carved stone and wood. The content of this relief is about some legends and opera stories. Behind the house is the acting platform. It is quite spectacular that there are only four big poles used to bear a house with three floors. Under the roof is the plaque “Xuanjian house”with golden dragons circling around it. It can be called a wonder. 

7《宏大的石雕群》经历了多年风雨的沧桑，仍然保持着完美的品质。石雕均为坚硬的材质，必经艰难的雕琢，才能够永恒、持久。
The spectacular carved stone These carved stones are still in a good shape though they have been gradually corraded by wind and rain for so many years. Because they are made of hard and strong materials they can last for ever.

8《细节》震撼，既来自宏伟，也源于最微小的细节。
Details The spectacular scenes can give us a shock，so does the tiny details.

9《精美的建筑》精美的建筑凝聚着古代商人的勤劳和智慧，也是他们思想素质的一种体现。
The beautiful construction The beautiful construction not only show the ancient businessmen's diligence and wisdom but also reflect their mind and quality.

11《廊柱的底座》这是建筑的基础，坚实中流露出华美和细腻，凝聚着商业与艺术的结合。
The base of pole It is the foundation of the building which combines the business with art and solidity with refinement.

  

12《金字牌匾》门头上的金字牌匾“浩然正气”和“正气常临”，是古代商人的座右铭，是中华商训的代表，是古人从商的道德准则。
The plaque with golden words The content of the plaque at the top of the gate—“great integrity”and“integrity often with us”is the motto and principle of ancient businessmen which is also on behalf of the faith of business in China.

13《关老爷》只有这本《春秋》，伴随着关老爷一生的足迹。
Guanyu Only this book<Spring and Autumn>companied with Guanyu in his whole life.

14《会馆里的塑像》会馆两侧一文一武的塑像，象征着古人对文武兼备的崇尚。
The statues in the hall The statues of scholar and soldier stand on both sides of the

hall which reflect the ancient’s respect for the combining of thinking mind and strong body.

  

15《烈日下的拉粪人》走出会馆，随意地游走在社旗县城时所摄。

16《胡同理发店》邻里间的便民服务，廉价而不可或缺。随着经济的进步，这样的小店，有一天将成为我们的回忆。
A barbershop in a lane The barber shop in the alley is convenient and cheap for neighbors so it is quite necessary. However，with the development of society，such shops will gradually disappear and just be kept in our mind.

17《废品回收站》似乎肮脏、低级的行当，却有着可观的效益。
Waste recycle bin The waste recycle bin looks so dirty and junior but it has some economic benefits for them.

18《老街》很多老房子都在翻新改造，建筑材料和机械占据着街道，而显得凌乱不堪。

20《广告与老房子》本来小街就陈杂无序，各色各样的商业条幅和墙面广告，更使之“锦上添花”。

27《乘凉的老人》山陕会馆给我的感觉是震撼的，但在乘凉的老人眼里，也许是亲历了太多的变迁，一切都趋于平淡。
The old man in the shadow The hall in Shanshan really shocked me， but in the eyes of the old man， it is so ordinary for he has experienced a lot of changes.

28《山陕会馆的东辕门》我突然感觉到远古的文明在岁月的变迁中，无力更新，显得没落而无奈。河南社旗县给我的印象是顺理成章而又矛盾的——古、今、新、旧全然颠倒！值得思考！
Dongyuan gate of the Shanshan assembly hall I feel that the ancient culture becomes regressive and helpless with the development of culture and the pass of time. The Sheqi county gives me an impression of reasonable but contradictory——ancient and modern，new and old are all upside down！We should think it over！
