前一阵子连续联合国提醒您:去日本出差的14个注意事项、去中国出差的15个注意事项、去美国出差的19个注意事项,有读者问:你是在联合国工作的吗?还是自由撰稿人啊?那个“联合国出差帖士”系列蛮有趣的,真的是联合国给内部员工的“文件”吗?答:我在“泛”联合国系统工作,这些出差小贴士也不是联合国本身的文件,而是委托负责安全的专业国际机构所提供的建议,供职员出差时参考。因为涉及各国文化这样的敏感问题,所以这些出差建议大多隔靴搔痒语焉不详,甚至有意无意漏掉了重要的注意事项。比如一位网友就提醒我说,“还有两条最重要,——这两条上太随便,,可能被报警或遭合法地枪击.:一是餐馆旅店等相对封闭的公共场所不能大声喧哗;二是在社区街道(道路两旁是住宅)的走路,只能走在行人边道上(很窄),
书归正传,去法国出差“一般性文化注意事项”有7点:
(1)社交场合送礼很常见,巧克力、鲜花都是很好的选择,但避免送红玫瑰、康乃馨、菊花(Gifts
of appreciation are customary at social events. Chocolates and
flowers are good choices, but
(2)见面和分别时一般握手,但法国人在与朋友或亲密同事经常行双颊贴脸礼(Handshakes are exchanged when greeting and leaving, though the French often greet friends and close colleagues by kissing both cheeks).
(3)金钱不宜成为聊天的话题,不要讨论财富、薪资或者对方所持有东西的价格。注意避免询问法国人选举中投了哪个党派的票。初次见面不要问个人问题(Monetary issues are not an appropriate topic of conversation. For example, do not discuss wealth, salaries or the price of someone's possessions. Also avoid asking how someone voted and from making personal inquiries soon after meeting someone for the first time).
(4)称呼他人“先生”、“女士”,不要加对方的姓氏,说法语时注意使用“您”,只有当对方建议说“你”时方可用“你”并直呼对方的名字(Address
people by Madame or Monsieur without a surname, and use the formal
version of the word 'you' ('vous').
(5)正式聚餐时,通常是女主人或者地位最高的人发出“开吃”的指令(At more formal events, the hostess or most important guest indicates when to begin eating).
(6)吃饭时一般上葡萄酒,餐前很少喝其他饮料(Wine is often served at dinner, though mixed drinks are not common before the meal).
(7)晚餐常常持续到午夜,最后上咖啡。所以在其他人没有喝完咖啡时不要告辞离席(Dinner
parties may last long into the
night.
“商务文化注意事项”有6点:
(1)约会需要提前确定,准时赴约属于职业道德(Appointments should be set ahead of time, and punctuality is seen as a professional courtesy).
(2)法国商人一般较刻板,偏保守(French business
people
(3)一般不与客户交换礼物(Exchanging gifts with business associates is not common or expected).
(4)因为午餐时间超过1小时,法国人下班较晚,管理层往往晚7点或8点还在办公室(The
French workday can often last into the evening, especially as lunch
may last over an hour.
(5)法国人一般在圣诞节、复活节和夏天(7月中旬直到9月中旬)休假,在此期间不宜做商务往来(Vacation
time is frequently used around Christmas or Easter, and during the
summer (mid-July through mid-September). It may be more difficult
