教学目标

Key structures: 1) Would you like to come to my birthday party?

2) I always like birthday parties.

3) What do you usually do at a Chinese birthday party?

4) My mother never makes a birthday cake.

5) We sometimes give birthday cards.

1. To get to know the adverbs of frequency.

2. To understand conversations involving “Daming’s birthday”.

Step 1 Warming up

1. Enjoy a video and answer “What does Peppa do on her birthday?” [d1]  

(She has a birthday party.

       gets a dress as a gift.

       watches a magic show from her father.

       gets a birthday cake and blows the candles out.)

2.Talk about a birthday party

     1.What do we Chinese do at birthday parties? [d2]  

(get birthday presents , have a party , make a cake , eat noodles, eat birthday cake, sing Happy Birthday song…)

2. Read the words after the teacher.

3. Introduce the new words.

    

Step2: Free talk

1.What do you do at your birthday party?

(I  …at my birthday party)

2.Share some pictures of my birthday.

( share the presents I got these years.)

I _never_ get a concert ticket.

3.Ask the ss :

What do you get on your birthday?

When do  you open the gifts/presents?

Lead the ss to get the different culture between China and western countries.

(The westerns(西方人) always open the gifts /at the party. But we never do that. We always open them after the party. )

 

Step 3: Show some pictures to help ss do the pairwork.

  -- What do you always/usually/often/sometimes do at your birthday party?

Step4:Listening

     1.Listen and answer the questions. [d3]  

l  Whose birthday party is it?

l  Who comes to the party?

l  When is the party?

l  Where is the party?

l  What are they talking about?

2.Make the ss to listen again and correct the following sentences.

1. Daming’s mother never buys a cake.

2. We always give birthday cards.

3. We often sing Happy Birthday in Chinese and

     English.

4. Daming never gets birthday presents

 

Step5: After-listening

1.Role play the conversation in groups of four.

2. Think and answer.

What does “ I always like birthday parties.” mean?

      A. I like birthday parties every year.

      B. I like birthday parties all the time(一直). 

 Do you know what Daming wants for his birthday

   Why does Daming not tell Tony the present he wants?

3.Lead the ss to think:when we talk about a party, what can we talk about?

   (When, where,who, what to do…)

1. Pair work  (work in pairs to talk about your birthday party and finish the table)
