"芳草园"位于泉州鲤城区新门街西段，闹中取静、环境优美，是泉州市民休闲锻炼的好去处。

该园始建于清康熙年间，距今已经三百多年历史，是靖海侯施琅将军在泉州创建春、夏、秋、冬四季花园其中的春园(也称"芳草园")。"芳草"是以四季游赏诗文"春游芳草地"立意而构思造园, 后来荒废了。

据记载，芳草园以大量草坪为主，它的布局手法，不逊三洲芳草......1997复建"芳草园"，后来再修建，并加入了一些园林雕塑小品、儿童乐园、健康步道等。园内有“崇正书院、"三洲芳草"牌坊、涵碧亭等景点.

如今的芳草园,芳草依旧芬菲，景色更加优美.园内鲜花盛开怒放、争奇斗艳:树木葱茏，绿草茵茵，翠竹茂盛，荷叶田田，一眼望去，满目皆绿：健康步道婉转幽长、休闲场所空旷舒适.

8月24日，我走进芳草园。在步道上漫步，在树林中穿梭，呼吸清新的空气，感受“城市山林”的郊野气息，让人仿佛“回归自然”，感到十分舒心，惬意无比。
