A group of students in our university visited a local farm near our campus on June 14. This activity was organized by our Student Union and 25 youngsters participated. 

What was the purpose of this visit? Lee, the chairman of the Student Union, told the reporter that students in large numbers had not realized the significance of saving food on campus. A typical example is that in canteens, it is a common phenomenon for so many students to waste food. 

After the visit, a majority of participants deemed that this activity could bring them a sense of thrift, arouse their passion for life and help them cherish food in future. After all, their happy life today is closely associated with the hard work of thousands of farm workers. 

In addition, it is also through this visit that they know how to manage a farm in a scientific way. They said, “We will bear in mind that science and technology is the primary productive force, and farming is no exception. ”
