徐志摩（1897.1.15-1931.11.19）浙江海宁县硖石镇人，诗人，散文家，中国新月派著名代表人物。

1918年留学于克拉克大学，学习银行专业，求学10个月后，获本科学位，之后在哥伦比亚大学商学院继续攻读金融学。1921年离开纽约前往英国，进入剑桥大学学习政治金融学。在剑桥两年求学期间，深受西方教育，欧洲浪漫主义，以及“为艺术而艺术”等理念影响。1923年，学成归国，成立新月派，任职于北京大学，聘为教授。1931年11月19日死于空难。

这首脍炙人口的诗篇《再别康桥》写于1928年11月6日，正值他坐船从英国回中国，途径南海。他想起了此前七月一个夏夜，住在英国著名哲学家罗素的剑桥家中，想再次游剑桥大学。当时并没提前告知剑桥大学的好友，故等待他的除了宁静、熟悉的康桥之外，别无他人。此诗为新月派诗歌代表作，全诗以离别康桥时的起伏情感为线索，以轻盈柔和的语言，精巧圆熟的形式，虚实相间的手法，勾勒出了一幅幅美妙流动的画面和意境，抒发了诗人对熟悉、宁静的康河、康桥的真挚留恋和浓郁的离愁。
