圣·彼得和撒旦打棒球

有一天，圣·彼得和撒旦因为棒球的事发生了争执。撒旦提议，在中立的场地上进行一场比赛。由天堂主管圣·彼得挑选一支球队，和他自己亲手挑选的球员进行对战。

“很好。”天堂守护者圣·彼得说，“但我希望你了解，我们有所有的优秀球员和最好的教练。”

“我知道。没关系。”撒旦平静地回答，“我们有所有的裁判。”

注：1，圣·彼得（Saint Peter），耶稣12使徒之一，排位居首，掌管天国的钥匙。所以，也被称为“天堂的守门人（The gatekeeper of Heaven）”。2，撒旦为魔鬼的代名词。本来也是天使，但因反抗神成为堕落天使。被神允许统治地狱和管理众魔鬼。

原文： St. Peter and Satan Play Baseball

St. Peter and Satan were having an argument one day about baseball。Satan proposed a game to be played on neutral grounds between a select team from the heavenly host and his own hand-picked boys。

“Very well。”said the gatekeeper of Heaven，“But you realize，I hope，that we’ve got all the good players and the best coaches。”

“I know，and that’s all right。”Satan answered unperturbed，“We’ve got all the umpires。”
