跳跳糖

卡西带着她的两个孙子坐火车从俄亥俄州的代顿市去首都华盛顿特区。这两个孙子都是第一次乘火车。

一个小贩在车厢的走道里廊卖跳跳糖。这种糖果是一种新产品，俩小孙子以前从未见过。卡西给他们每个人各买了一袋。

哥哥急切地撕开糖果袋，塞了一颗跳跳糖在嘴里。那时，火车刚好驶入一条隧道。

当火车从隧道里出来时，哥哥看着坐在他对面的弟弟说：“如果我是你，就不会吃这个糖。”

“为什么不呢？”好奇的弟弟问。

“我只咬了一口，眼睛就失明了半分钟。”

注：跳跳糖（Pop Rocks）是一种将二氧化碳气体压入糖体内部的糖果。1980年代之后才出现在商品市场上。它的外形像普通的硬糖，但呈不规则的晶体状。当糖粒在口腔中溶解时，气泡会由于压力而产生微小的爆裂感，感觉糖果在嘴里跳动。因此，跳跳糖又被称为“爆炸糖”。

Cassie was taking two of her grandsons on their very first train ride from Dayton，Ohio to Washington，DC。

A vendor came down the corridor selling Pop Rocks，something neither had ever seen before。

Cassie bought each one a bag。

The first one eagerly tore open the bag and popped one into his mouth just as the train went into a tunnel。

When the train emerged from the tunnel，he looked across to his brother and said：“I wouldn't eat that if I were you。”

“Why not？”Replied the curious brother。

“I took one bite and went blind for half a minute。”
