Clinically, it is quite often to hear that "I have pain everywhere but my doctor cannot find anything wrong from laboratory studies so far".   Many of these patients usually have a history of migraine headache and irritable bowel syndrome.  Some of these patients had a lot of surgeries because of severe and constant pain, most commonly including lumbar laminectomy, cervical laminectomy, joints surgeries, abdominal laparoscopic exploratory surgery, etc.  As a patient to be diagnosed as fibromyalgia, you have to be very cautious about any surgeries!  3 medications has been recommended for fibromyalgia: 1.  Savella; 2.  Cymbalta; 3.  Lyrica.  So far, no medication is going to cure the fibromyalgia but help patients to manage their daily life.
