法国的索萨斯岩石（The Saussois Rocks）位于勃艮第地区，这里的白色石灰岩形成高达60米的峭壁，看起来也许没有那么起眼，这里却是法国攀岩运动的发源地。自从上个世纪50年，法国攀岩爱好者就开始在这里训练，并最终发明了徒手自由攀爬，使攀岩成了一门艺术。如今索萨斯岩石有200条线路可以攀爬，难度从4C到8C，这些路线只为有经验的运动员保留。

如果不攀岩，也可以走小路到悬崖的顶部，可以欣赏到Yonne山谷和河畔村庄的美景。在岩石上登高望远，夏日的勃艮第郁郁葱葱，一片醉人的绿意。难得的是附近的小村庄几百年都没有任何变化，依然古朴美丽。
