Pickles' New Home 教学设计

一.Before reading

(一)热身与引入(猜谜语):

1T: Boys and girls, Do you remember the song : I have a pet.

 Ok, Let’s sing together ,and remember what pets we sing. 

What pets do we sing?

Ss: dog , cat , mouse, bird, fish, lion.

 T:Yes, they’re all pets.  Do you have a pet ? What is it What can it do ?

Eg, I have a bird. It can fly. Who want to try?

出示语言支架: I have a _____. It can _________.(3-5名同学)

2.Today here are two new friends , they are Cat and Ant. Let say HELLO to Cat

    and Ant. They have a lovely pet. Lets guess what it is.“ Our pet is small. It has four legs. And it can run very fast. Guess what it is . (3-5名)OK, Lets go on. It likes to eat sunflower seeds and peanuts. It lives in a cage. What pet do we have? ” (由于 sunflower seeds, peanuts, cage 等词学生没有学过,在 PPT 上出示图片,以使学生明白,并避免中文的出现。)

What is it ? Yes, it’s a hamster. It’s very cute, Yes?  Its name is Pickles.

【设计意图】创建宽松,愉悦的课堂氛围,通过猜谜游戏形式自然将学生引入课堂教学,调动学生参与课堂的积极性。

() 读前激活(P3-4

T: Here’s a present for Pickles . What is it ? (出示笼子)(学生随口回答 ) 

Yes, Cat and Ant give pickles a new home .出示句子:Pickles has a new home. (Listen and read Would you like to be Ant, say it again? Can you? Can you ? 

问题: What color is it ? How many floors? Whats in it?  Can you see the toys? Whats this? (边说边在笼子里张贴三个玩具)Wow , it is very nice. If youre Pickles, what do you say? (Thank you , I like it , Wow , its so ...) Lets help Pickles to go in .(边贴边说句子: In you go, Pickles! Is Pickles be happy here? Let’s enjoy a story together.

二.While reading 

 出示封面页:

T:What’s the name of the story? (指名回答) 并贴课题。

This is the writer-----Shoo Rayner.

What can you see on the cover? I can see________

T: Where are they? S:They are in the cage.

T: What do they want to do ? 接着问Do they want to have dinner with Pickles?

Do they want to play with pickles?

P5-6

T: How do Cat and Ant go in the cage?  

You can speak Chinese.鼓励学生大胆想象 S

They have magic watches. Look! ,Now they are small. 

出示句子: Now Cat and Ant can go in! 

What can Cat and Ant do ?(贴小人) 生重复。

【设计意图】教师与学生对故事书的封面页进行讨论、描述,对故事进行预测,引发学生对故事的兴趣,锻炼培养学生的预测能力和发散思维。

Emagine : What can Cat/Ant do in the cage? 

出示语言支架: Cat / Ant can play with______. (指3名说句子)Lets have a look.

T: Look , Where is Ant?  Ss: He is on the ladder.  TYes, He is climbing the ladder.  

Can he go up?  Listen !(Ant can go up !(3名重复句子)

Can you climb ladder? S: … T: How are you feeling ? (2名学生回答,high,dangerous

(师拿着Cat 贴画问)What about Cat?  What does Cat want to play? ( slide , hamster wheel?) 出示PPT Where is she  ?  Ss: She is in the slide. T: Can she go up? S: No, she can go down.  Listen ! What did you hear? 齐说听到的句子。

出示句子:Cat can go down. (男女生读)

Do you like playing slide ? Why?  S: ItS _____(funny , exciting )

T: I like this game, I think it exciting.

Where is Pickles now?  (出示PPT) S: He’s on the wheel now.  Yes, its on the hamster wheel.

What is pickles doing ?  S: Pickles is running on the wheel.

Can he spin?  Listen! Pickles can spin . Can he spin? (指名1个说,然后教读单词spin) Look , how to say? in-pin-spin.

Pickles can spin. (4个小组说句子)

P10-12

Can Ant and Cat spin the wheel? Now please read the story from P10 to P12.

Can Ant and Cat spin ?  (Yes)出示PPT,齐说句子:Ant can spin , Now Cat can spin. 师追问:How do they feel?  They are dizzy. (师动作支撑dizzy) Can you spin? Who want to try? 3名同学比赛spin . How do you feel ?生说: Im dizzy.

教师请学生亲自动作使明白 spin 的意义,感受dizzy

P13

What is Cat doing ?Where is her finger? 师做出动作Shhh. 追问:What does she say? (Shhh!) Why does she say Shhh接着出示图片Pickles is sleeping .

 S: Pickles is tired, and it falls asleep. 出示句子: Pickles falls asleep.

What do Ant say?   语言支架:Pickles falls asleep. _______________.

【设计意图】图片本身虽然没有语言,但是教师通过猜一猜的活动,可以鼓励学生推测故事中人物可能会说的话,开启学生思维,激活学生旧知,引发学生思考。

Is Pickles happy here ? Yes, he gets a lot of fun in the new home.And Cat and Ant can play with him. They are friendly. If you had a magic watch, You can become very small, What can you do in Pickles new home?

I can _________. Wow, wonderful! I think you can be friends.

三.After reading

(一)同伴合作,展示读故事。

1 Do you like the story?  lets watch and listen to the story. 

2、 Now please read the story in your groups. You can read some , and you can   

read all. You can read together. And you can read in roles.

3、 Time is up. Stop here. Which group want to show? (2组)

【设计意图】教师帮助学生在听音、会意的基础上学会语言材料的发音,并通过发音加深对语言材料的理解,通过不同的形式帮助学生建立语感,积攒情景与对应的语言。

)扩展练习:

Wow , you can read the story well. Here are some pictures and sentences about  

the story. Can you match the sentences with the pictures?

 For example, Picture 1.  Pickles has a new home ?  How about Picture 2?   

【设计意图】通过不同的学习方式和练习形式加深对文本的理解和记忆,巩固情景所对应的语言。帮助学生在头脑中积攒真实的情景表达,为他们在现实中碰到和过去看过的类似情景时,脑子能很快搜索出对应的那句完整的英文表达,用英文思维,自然输出做准备。

Summary and homework

Do you like Cat and Ant ? Yes , they are friendly to their pet?  Are you friendly to your pet? (你对你的宠物友好吗?) Do you know it ? What does it look like? What can it do ? You can make a book about your pet.  Look, I have a book about pet . This is a parrot. It has a beak. It can fly very high.  It can talk, It is lovely ! I like it very much. Would you like to make your own book?

You can draw ,you can write .

Todays homeworke:

1. Read the story to your parents.

2. Make a picture book about your pet.
