The data shows the populations and life expectancy figures for China, the USA and Spain in 1950 and 2000 and the estimates for 2050.

China and the USA have increasing populations and this is expected to continue. China’s population grew from 700 million in 1950 to 1.2 billion in 2000. The population is expected to reach 1.5 billion in 2050. The USA grew from 200 million in 1950 to 300 million in 2000 and the population is forecast to reach 400 million in 2050. Spain’s population increased from 30 million in 1950 to 40 million in 2000,but is expected to drop to 35 million by 2050.

Life expectancy in all three countries rose between 1950 and 2000. In both years, the USA had the longest life expectancy (73 and 75). China’s was the lowest in both years (65 and 68).That of Spain was between them (70 and 72). By 2050,Spanish and Chinese people are projected to live 5 years longer than in 2000, giving Spain the longest life expectancy (77). The figure for the USA is forecast to drop to 74.

To conclude, China and the USA are forecast to have larger populations and life expectancy in China and Spain are forecast to rise significantly.
