It was midnight on the day before. I checked my e-mail, you never know. What’s this? Larry has sent me the Far East rigging guide. Why? Hey, never mind, that’s me in the picture!!

Fast forward to Thursday afternoon. Wow, this Sailing Centre is really big. Where’s my boat? Great, it’s on the water already.

Nice job. That’s Yukie on the next boat. Hi Yukie! Hang on a moment. Yukie has a boom… and a mainsheet… and a backstay… and… Oh, so that’s what “bareboat” charter means. It’s a DIY kit!! Thanks Larry!

Actually, it wasn’t so difficult and after several hours under the blazing sun, without any beers (ok, that was my fault), just about everything was in the right place.

That looks like a lot of boats, all lined up, ready for the start. This is serious. Better get a good night’s sleep.
