The ten in the bed can be
demonstrated in different ways
·
Line up ten kids and have one roll over.
·
Have finger puppets and put down one finger for each roll
out.
·
Have 10 balls with faces drawn on and role a ball away for each
roll out. (keep controlled and make sure all the kids don’t start
chasing the balls. Keep them close to you)

The bed can be done in different
ways

Picture that the kids can color in, or they can draw a bed
themselves

Steps
Here I will demonstrate the steps
taken when using finger puppets.

1.
Command the class to listen to you and look at the finger
puppets
2.
Count of the puppets up to ten (ten fingers, ten
puppets)
3.
Have the class count with you and drill the numbers
4.
Sing the song with them and drop one of your fingers each time “one
falls out”
5.
ATM is always 3 times (first time listen to you, second and third
time do it together)
Here the activities can be taken
in a number of directions

The kids could act out the “10 in the bed”
themselves
·
They can draw their own faces to stick on the balls
and role them
·
They can draw a bed and cut out 10 little kids to
put in it and then act out the story
·
They can make their own finger
puppets
I will continue with the kids making
their own figure puppets. You can make printouts that the kids can
cut and color themselves. These can be complex or very simple and
you can even involve other topics such as animal, emotions or
jobs.

1. Have
the kids make and color in their finger puppets and have enough for
five per child.

2.
Divide kids up into pairs so altogether they have
ten puppets then have them act out the song in their
pairs.
3.
Enforce the number that should be up by counting out
on your own hands and have them count
along.
