七月四日是美国的独立日和国庆节。每年这天在波士顿的查尔斯河上有盛大的烟火庆祝。我们携儿带女还有小狗Bobo匆匆吃完晚饭就往查尔斯河的哈佛大桥跑。It's July 4th. Every year there is a huge firework celebration at Charle's River in Boston. Right after dinner, our whole family including little Toy Fox Terrier, Bobo, rushed to the Harvard Bridge at Charle's River.

七点半到达查尔斯河边，已经有很多人占了河边一席之地。小女孩着了节日装束。好可爱。We got to Charles River around 7:30pm. Lots of people set up their seating area already. The girls in July 4th Costume are so cute!
哈佛大桥连接波士顿市中心和大名鼎鼎剑桥镇，即麻省理工学院（MIT)和哈佛大学的所在地。平时哈佛大桥是人车两用桥。今天，为了焰火庆祝，桥梁改为行人专用。Harvard Bridge connects Downtown Boston and the well-known Cambridge, the town where MIT and Harvard University are located. Harvard Bridge is designed for both vehicles and pedestrians. However, it is for pedestrian use only today.

面向烟火的那面已经坐满了人。The side facing the firework is pretty much occupied. Do you see the round dome of MIT at the end of the bridge?

居然让我们找到桥中间临江的位置。好幸运！临江瞭望，私家船已经一字排开，等待盛况。可惜天气不是太好，据说可能有雷阵雨。We are so lucky that we found a nice spot facing the river right in the middle of the bridge. Lots of yachts are already on the river waiting for the spectacular firwork. Unfortunately, the weather forecast indicated that there might be thunderstorm tonight.

行人不断涌上哈佛大桥。因为波士顿是大学城，出门看烟火的以年轻人居多。老波士顿人都选择猫在家里看电视转播。People kept rushing to the bridge. Boston is so-called college town. Most people coming to see the firework are young students. Most Bostonian choose to watch the firework on TV at home.

天渐渐黑了。看，到处都能见到亚洲学生。It gets darker. See, we can come across asian students almost everywhere.

节庆日是警察，士兵最忙的时侯。很快，哈佛大桥就要给封锁 -- 政府控制上桥的人数，以防不测。The police and army are always the busiest during holidays. I was told that the bridge is going to be blocked soon so that only limited amount of people will be on there for safety reasons.

一对骑着超高自行车的年轻人吸引了很多眼球。A couple on the speically designed bicyles attract a lot attention.

桥上甚至有黑人街舞表演，围得人山人海（这张拍得好糊：围得人山人海，在外围矮个的我什么也看不见，只好高举相机随便咔嚓一下。还不错，让我照到舞者了）。There is even hip-pop dancing show on the bridge. Wow, lots of people are watching.

三架歼斗机从低空飞过，以示庆祝。我动手晚了，只照到的背影。Three sleek-looking flight jets fly over as the part of the celebration. Too bad, I was not fast enough the catch a better scene!

夜幕终于降临。桥上凉风习习，很是惬意。我们还能听见波士顿交响乐团在不远的贝壳剧场的美妙演出。Finally it get dark enough for the firework. It is a beautiful summer night with wind breezing on the bridge. We are able to hear the Boston POP performance at the Hatch Hall not far away.

10：38分，烟火千呼万唤始出来。At 10:38pm, the firework offcicially starts.













烟火如梦如幻，持续了20分钟。因为我们选择的位置绝佳，一幕幕千变万化的焰火直了了地呈现在眼前，仿佛为我们独家播放一般，美得让人窒息，让人怀疑是不是幻觉。好在旁边坐满了观众，不时听到年轻人的尖叫声和喝彩声，才意识到美景的真实。天气预报又一次失准，雷阵雨没有下来。暗暗庆幸！The firework is spectacular. It lasts about 20 minutes. Because of the great spot we are in, the firework is displayed right in front of us, as if it is solely made for our family. The firework is so pretty that it feels so surreal. Luckily there are lots of other audience next to us. The screaming and cheering from the yougn people remind us all this is true. No thunderstorm yet. We are happy that the weather forecast is wrong again.

不管科技多发达，相机和录像机都无法捕捉烟火的神奇和美妙。也许，正因为这样，每年才有那么多观客不惜等待几个小时来重温难得的美好吧。No matter how adanced the techonology is, there is no way for the cameras and camcorders to capture the true beauty of the firework. Maybe, because of this inefficiency, people keep coming back to the river waiting for hours for the firework spectacule every year?
