章振邦语法英语句子汉译:动词分类单词动词与词组动词

英语主动词,按其构成,可分为单词动词 (single-word verb) 和词组动词 (phrasal  verb) 。单词动词是由一个单词构成的动词,如 walk, take, beautify, modernize, enable, embody 前一节所举诸例,基本上都是单词动词 。 词组动词指由两个或两个以上单词构成的动词 这种动词主要分为以下三类:
a) 动词+介词
由动词+介词构成的动词
He couldn't account for (解释) his long absence from school.他无法解释他为何旷课。
I agree with(与……看法一致) you on that point.我同意你的那个观点。
She doesn't agree to (同意) my proposal. 她不同意我的建议。
 His comments amounts to treason. 他的评论等于叛国。
When his father died, Jim came into (继承) a fortune. 吉姆在父亲去世时,继承了一大笔钱。
In the valley we came across (碰到) a group of Mexicans. 在山谷里我们遇到一群墨西哥人。
It is the  job of the police to get after (追捕) criminals. 警察的工作是追捕罪犯。
If you go about (做) it in the right way, you'll soon get it finished. 你走对了路,就会很快完成。
If I were you, I would go for (争取) that job. 如果我是你,我会去做那份工作。
The police are looking into (调查) the case. 警察正在调查这个案子。
They didn't look after (照顾) the children properly. 他们没有把孩子们照顾好。
Can we rely on (信赖) this old car to get us there? 我们能靠这辆旧车到那儿吗?
When the child's pleas didn't work, he resorted to (诉诸) tears. 那儿童的要求无法满足时,他就哭了起来。
If you are too busy, I'll see about (料理) train tickets. 如果你太忙,我去看看火车票。
Who is seeing to (朴理) the arrangements for the next meeting? 谁负责安排下次会议?
Why do you take me for (把……当做) a fool?  为什么把我当傻瓜?
Before long he had taken to (爱上) a girl student in his class.
     不久,他就爱上了一个女生,来自他自己的班级。
b) 动词+副司小品词
在这一类词组动词中的副词又叫“副词小品词"
The plane blew up (爆炸) when it was hit by a missile. 飞机爆炸了,当时是被导弹击中了。
The Sino-Japanese War broke out (爆发) in 1937. 中日战争爆发于1937年。
The boy was well brought up (教养). 这个男孩长大了。
We are going to bring up (提出) some important problems to discuss at the meeting
            我们将把重要问题提交给会议。
The traffic to the beach started to build up (增长) at noon.  汽车往海滩路上开始堵车的时间是中午
The meeting has been called off (取消). 会议被取消了。
After just a few minutes she suddenly came to. 几分钟后,她突然苏醒过来。
We will carry on (继续) our conversation tomorrow.
The plan has been satisfactorily carried out (贯彻).
The question of what time to be there neve came up (发生).
Some new problems cropped up (冒出) at the last minute.
This paper comes out (出版) once a week.
Can you figure out (想出) a way to do it?
I can't figure out (理解) why he said that.
He flared up 泼脾气) at me when I advised him to give up smoking.
The firm had to lay off (解雇) 100 men.
They are quarrelling and making up (和好) by turns.
We must do all we can to make up (弥补) the economic losses.
We could hardly make out (理解) what she meant.
My investment in these stocks had really paid off (嬴利).
Uncle Herman passed away (去世) many years ago.
She is not really that way. She is just putting on (装模作样)
Take the watch apart (拆开) and see if you can see what's wrong with it.
Even the most experienced eye may be taken in (受骗上当) on certain occasions.
We have decided to take on (雇用) a new  clerk  the accounts department.
Our firm took over (接管) 2 fruit packing companies last year.

c) 动词+副词小品词+介词
Will this enthusiasm carry over to (持续到) the next week?
I finally caught on to (理解) what she was talking about
I don't want to come down with (染上) the flu again.
My nephew often comes out with (说出) the cleverest  remarks.
I will have to fill in for (顶替) Wally until he gets back.
Put the food where the cat can't get around to /at (够得到).
How could he get away with (得逞) cheating?
My wife is always getting on at (责怪) me for not keeping the room clean.
I've got on to (想出) a good idea for increasing production.
The children didn't quite get on to (理解) what the teacher was saying.
We don't go in for (喜欢) that kind of thing.
I can't go through with (完成) the performance. I am so nervous.
His English is not good enough for him to keep up with (跟上) the rest of the class.
I couldn't put up with (忍受) the noise any longer.
The children are looking forward to (盼望) the holiday.
We all look up to (尊敬) Roger. He's authoritative but kind.
We should not look down on (看不起) their humble food.
You must make up for (弥补) the omission.
I will own up to (承认) my mistakes.
You could be more convincing if you didn't talk down to (对 ... 大言不惭地说话) you audience.

以上三类词组动词都是一些固定搭配,相当于一个及物的或不及物的单词动词,因而又称为“成语动词" (Verbal Idiom)。还要注意其他一些属于成语性质的固定搭配。这类搭配在有些语法著作中也归入“词组动词”之列这类词组动词有的是“动词+名词+介词”,相当于一个及物动词,如 make fun of (取笑), make the most of (充分利用), make a mess of (把·夸…弄脏、弄糟), take care of (照顾,照料), take advantage 0 f (利用)等;有的是“动词+名词”,相当于一个不及物动词,如 change hands (易手,过户), take effect (生效), take root (扎根), take place (发生)等。例如
She soon realized that she was being made fun of.
You should make the most of the opportunity to improve your English.
She indulged in luxury and made a mess of her life.
I will take care of your children when you are away.
They are taking full advantage of the favourable situation to increase exports. 他们正在充分利用有利的形势增加出口。
The house has changed hands several times. 这房子已经易手好几次了。
In a few minutes the medicine will take effect几分钟后这药就会起效。
Very soon the seeds germinated and took root很快种子就发芽生根了。
His ideas have taken root in the minds of his followers. 他的思想已扎根于追随者之中。
When did the accident take place 何时的事故?
