Teaching Contents

It is the first period of Unit5 Do you like pears? in PEP Book 2. In this class, I focus on A Let’s learn. The contents are close to students’ lives, so it is not very different for them to learn.

Teaching aims

Knowledge amis

(1) Students are expected to master the words: apple, pear, orange and banana.

(2) Students are also expected to use the sentence patterns “ Do you like …?”

“Yes, I do.”  “No, I don’t.” to ask and answer.

Ability aims

Students are able to talk in English and improve their oral English.

Affective aims

(3) Cultivate students’ interest on English learning.

(4) Encourage students to eat fruit to keep in health.

Teaching key points and difficulties

(1)New word: apple, pear, banana, orange, grape

(2)Sentence pattern: Do you like …?   Yes, I do.   No, I don’t.

(3)The plural form of the new words may be difficult for students.

Teaching procedures

一．Warming up

Step1. Listen to the song “Apple red apple round”

Step2. Let’s sing a song-----Hello!

        Step3. Daily greetings

Step4. Lead-in(Show students a bag)

T:  Boys and girls.It’s a magic bag. There are many things in it. Do you want to know what’s in my bag?

Ss: A pen/pencil/eraser,ruler,bread,milk...

二．Presentation & practice

Look!There is a fruit bowl in the bag.Then teach the new word “bowl”.

And what’s in the fruit bowl?Next,teah the new words “apple, banana,orange, pear, grapes” one by one.

Step5.Show students an apple, teach the word “apple”.

Step6.Riddles for the students.Then teach the word “banana”.

Step7.Show students a banana, teach the word “banana”.

Step8.Let’s say.

Step9.Ss ask Miss Chen:Do you like bananas?-----No, I don’t. I like oranges. Then teach the word “orange”.

Step10.Teatime.(I like orange juice/cakes. Yummy!)

Step11.Let’s sing.

Step12.“Hello,hello,hello----Hello!pear”.Show students a pear, teach the word “pear”.

Step13.Let’s read and choose.

Step14.Show students grapes, teach the word “grapes”.

三．Consolidation & extension

Step15.pairwork.Use the sentence pattern “ Do you like …?” “Yes, I do.” “No, I don’t.”

Step16.storytime. T: We like different fruits. What about Zoom?

             Show students the story and then ask students to act it out.

Step17.Role play.

Step18. Tell the students not to eat too much.It’s not healthy for us.

          1.Read the new words.

          2.Ask your parents what fruit they like.
