Proshop 3 medium
size shop
Club
House
3 old
but cosy. The shower area in the changing room needs some
renovation
Practice
Area 2
small putting green and the strangely located bunker practice
area(need to cross the playing fairway); they have
no driving range but the members just hit the
practice balls across the 1st and 13th fairway.
you will find a lot of balls lying the fairways.
Tee
Ground 5 white(5961),
yellow(5739) and red(5269),very common and nothing
special
Fairway
8
Fairway width varies. There are a few holes that have steep
slopes.. The fairway grass has
good quality and is felt a bit like carpet.
Course
Design 3 The
front 9 is a good design that well using the hills and slopes. The
back 9 is very cramped and very dangerous as the tee and green are
very close. There are some fairways that cross each other.
PAR
3 10
Five par 3s with different challenges from shot iron to long iron.
The hills and greenside bunkers are specially interesting.
PAR
5 4
only two par 5s
Green
9
The greens are m1edium size. The
quality is superb with good speed. the surface
is smooth. We can call it, the
true green
Bunkers
6 The
shape of the bunker is a bit linky. The top sand
is soft but a bit harder further down.
Signature
hole 10
The 3rd par 3 164 yards, steep down hill.
The 6th par 3 125 yards, the greenside bunkers are the killers
The 8th par 4 424 yards, uphill and hidden small green. A very
tough par 4
The 9th par 3 180 yards, a long par 3 when wind
agains. the green is very tricky and you may want to land below the
hole
The 17th par 3, greenside bunkers and the narrow long green are the
specials
Total 63
The Newbury and Crookham golf club has very interesing front 9
holes, espcially the par3s. But very bad design of
the back 9s, it is so dangourse that you may want
to buy golf insurance before you play there
