The Prince’s golf course was opened in 1906 with the former PM, A.J. Balfour as 1st Club captain. The course held 1932 open Championship and was the final Qualifying Venue for 2011 Open.
It is ranked the 65th among England golf courses.
It has 27 holes. We played on the Shore/Dunes.

Practice Area | 7 | Huge practice putting green Seaside driving range but no net, maybe dangerous for the passing by cars |
Tee Ground | 7 | Blue(7232 yards), white(6869), yellow(6619) and red(5850). in good conditions |
Fairway | 8 | Typical waving link Fairway. There are not so many divots. The fairways are medium width but with the long grass rough, the fairways are felt narrow. |
Course Design | 6 | The holes are looks similar with the long grass rough and no trees. The sea wind is strong. It is a tough test for the golfers. |
PAR 3 | 5 | Straight forward if you can choose the right club. Fair test for medium and long irons |
PAR 5 | 7 | 2nd Shores needs a long carry to clear
the long rough between the tee and fairway. the fairway bunkers are
just after the long rough. There are no bunkers around green which you may wish to have some as bail out. Tough par5s need accuracy and distance. |
Green | 8 | The greens are large size with slopes. The wrong spot can easily 3 putts. The speed is medium. The green is not as hard as imagined probably due to the rainy summer. |
Bunkers | 8 | Bunkers are normally located on the fairway or green side for PAR3 and short Par4. They are typical sharply raised bunkers and some are higher than a person. the sand is soft. you will feel accomplished if can get out of the bunker by only 1 shot. |
Signature hole | 5 | 1st Shore Par 4, 418 yards, tough
opening hole. It is scary when standing on the tee and seeing the
long rough between the tee ground and fairway. 2nd Shore Par 5, the longest carry 1st Dunes, 439 yards, a very tough Par4 |
Total | 68 | The Prince’s is a typical Links course. With the strong wind and long long rough, It is a tough test for the golfers |
