加载中…花几个月读的史蒂夫·卡瓦纳的《失真》

于是我也找来一本，不是艾迪弗林系列，是另一本，英文书名为Twisted，中文书名叫《失真》。眼下快读完了，忍不住出来谈谈我的读后感想。
值得肯定的方面：
- 悬疑结构与反转设计受称道。这本书在情节构造、反转布置方面颇具匠心，读者在阅读过程中几次被颠覆。譬如，玛丽亚被达里尔的突袭，把我吓得半死，因为书的前半部分，都在说达里尔只是个穷服务生，而他和玛丽亚一起发现了保罗书房里的银行对账单。关于这本书，ForBooksSake 的书评就写道：“Every time you think you have an idea, there’s a twist that you would never see coming … 警惕你以为你知道的那条线路。”就是说，你以为抓住线索了，故事又给你翻盘。读的一路可谓狼奔豕突，你会不断自问：这也可以？

氛围与张力控制不错
尽管一开始节奏较慢，但随着剧情展开，紧张感逐渐加强，读者很难松懈。譬如我很难发现达里尔就是JT 勒博的。
令人反感的方面：
- 人物塑造薄弱
/ 角色代入困难
多篇书评指出，作者为了推动情节与布置反转，有时牺牲了人物的可信度与丰满度。RomanticsRebelsAndReviews 的书评就写道：
“he has forgotten about his characters … I didn’t care for Paul or Daryl and Maria practically disappears from the narrative … the ending is so ridiculous and predictable.” 也就是说，角色经常被当做服务于情节的工具，而非有独立生命的人。
譬如玛丽亚既然那么爱钱，也不应该那么愚蠢。最后似乎又行了，突然布出迷局，让老谋深算的达里尔上当。
- 节奏开端缓慢
/ 中段拖沓
有评论认为前半部铺陈过多，故事起势较慢。这在多个博客书评中被提及，例如 World of Books Blog 就提到“the beginning a bit slow just as the scene was being set … then it reaches a point … there is no time to catch your breath”；The Tattooed Book Geek 也说“it is quite slow at the beginning, introducing us to the various characters and setting the scene … then the story reaches a point … the pacing quickens” 。 -
反转设计有时显得刻意 /
合理性不足
我觉得某些反转虽然具有惊喜效果，但回头看时在逻辑上或人物动机上略显生硬或牵强。RomanticsRebelsAndReviews 的评述就提到“ending is so ridiculous … you’ll only be satisfied if you like your mysteries tied up in a neat little bow … every hundred pages a character saying ‘do you know how hard it is to write twists convincingly?’”
