过去的两个星期，我分别在上海交大国际与公共关系学院和中国社会科学院亚太所做了同样的一个讲座,《什么是（好的）社会科学)》，今天把PPT修改了一下，放到了我的个人网页上。欢迎大家下载和批评。
说来话长，一年多以前，我在一个小范围内像是发问卷一样，问问同仁们对社会科学的理解。与此同时，我也让学生填写问卷，问问他们对社会科学的理解。得到的答案当然是极其多样化的。
这个讲座不敢说是成熟的想法，到更像是我对引发这样一个讨论的一个交代（毕竟，当时就有同仁要求我公布答案）。显然，这是一家之言，欢迎大家批评和讨论。
其中，我讲座中提到的关于历史学和社会科学的关系的讨论，我讲在一个短文中更详细一点的讨论。也许，我也会写一个短文讨论“社会科学与价值中立”。
另外，下周五晚6.30（12月16日，文科楼826），我会做一个讲座，《如何做（好的）理论研究》，欢迎在上海的同仁和同学捧场，参与讨论并且提供批评。

最后，我很高心地告诉大家，我的“国际政治的社会进化：从米尔斯海默到杰维斯”（英文版）在发表一年后被收入牛津大学出版社马上要新出版的一个reader，Introduction to World Politics: A Reader。这样，将会有更多的本科学生对到这篇文章。
