九娘庙在桂林穿山公园后的九娘庙自然村的漓江东岸。始建于咸丰6年（丙辰年，1856年）。1960年代“伙大龙”（即搞生产队）时，曾经成为生产队的仓库、猪圈、民办小学。曾经遭火灾，现在仍然能够看到梁柱的火痕。2011年重修，有台胞捐款。

    九娘庙当地人又称九子娘娘庙，为九娘庙村、白果树村、穿山园村等八个自然村共同供奉的庙宇。而解放前东头难侧的九娘庙是解放后才有的，九娘庙村的九娘庙是祖庙。

    说，以前行船至此，尤其上行船，船家都要上岸烧香，很是灵验。

    庙为砖瓦结构二进式建筑，有天井。庙中又碑刻。曾经有泥菩萨，后来移走。解放后先后住过和尚，尼姑。1960年代初住过道婆，道婆八九十岁才去世。

    现在住着河南来的一个老道和他儿子，据说还有孙女。庙中大门左右，也曾经祀有灶神、财神。

    九娘庙村是从大圩卫家渡迁来的。村中有五六株古樟树。最老的标明250年，所以村子也应该在250年以上。姓卫、姓廖。现在有240多人。

    传九娘有十姐妹，如今的桂林同心村也曾经有八娘庙，在漓江西岸，不知存否。说是十娘“没有道行（音衡）”，所以没有庙，十娘坐（镇）“朝（潮？）洲”（即同心村附件漓江中的大洲）。

    漓江流域曾经多有类似的妈祖庙。阳朔福利、平乐榕津等地尚存，但是破落不堪。应该引起政府注意，加以修缮，立为文物保护单位。
