In the country i live at the moment, many people drink plenty wine (more larger though!),but most don't actually know much about wine. I came to this conclusion recently while visiting a wine cellar in Mosel region. I was mistaken as a connoisseur after regurgitating some text book stuff. The plain truth is I am a novice.

In the country I am orginally from, drinking wine isn't part of the culture until more recently. When people first started, wine (red especially) was mixed with Sprite to get a sweetened taste. This was hereafter scoffed as vulgar, although I do think there's a good reason behind it. the mass-produced bottled wine from few estates in China is simply undrinkable back then. that reason aside, Brits drink similar sprtizer (white wine+soda water) and they have a long history of drinking wine,so i can't see we are more vulgar by mixing red and lemonade.A decade later, imported wine becomes the new cult and 'drinking wine' is far more tasty than (most possibly) wine itself.

since drinking wine is an acquired culture and wine (dry esp.) an acquired taste, i think learn a few basics about wine will help us to have a more enjoyable experince with wine, snobbishness aside.

let's pretend we know about wine
