There was a man in the old China he used to recite the Ode to the Goddess of River Luo, and once remarked with a sigh in the presence of his wife, “what a beauty for a wife!”  His wife said in angry: how dare you praise the Goddess of River Luo and insult me? when I die, I will become a water spirit.” That night she drowned herself in the river. Seven days afterwards the dead wife appeared in her husband’s dream and laughed: you wanted to marry a goddess, now I am a goddess.” For the rest of the husband’s life, he never dared to cross a stream. Whenever beautiful women passed that river, they had to disguise themselves ugly, otherwise a storm would come up along with the angry shouting of the goddess. But if women were ugly, the goddess was not jealous, and they could passed peacefully.

A jealous woman could not stand up with her lover’s eyes attracted by beautiful and sexy women, and would try everything to prevent him having affair with other woman. She is reluctant to believe no matter how reliable and honest her lover is, he still hides special instinct for other woman. Woman who lose her lover’s favor is just like a professional man loses the favor of his employer, she feels ignored, neglected, not important anymore. In the beginning, she is angry, makes any trouble or tries hard to get his attention, his interest, his favor back. If all tricks do not work out, either she leaves or just give in to accept the fact, or help her lover to get other woman. It’s woman’s virtue to help her husband to find other nice woman to be his concubine in the old China. But who knows how bitter and lonely her heart is under the smiley and tender face.
