The Coffee Quality Institute, founded in 1996, is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization. CQI works internationally to improve the quality of Arabica and Robusta coffees and the lives of the people who produce it. This is accomplished through technical training and assistance programs to coffee producers and other individuals in the supply chain to increase the value and volume of quality coffee production. CQI also works to building institutional capacity in coffee producing countries by creating systems and infrastructure that encourages a focus on quality that leads to higher farmer incomes.
