维生素B6、B12摄入不足的老年人易患抑郁症

维生素B6、B12摄入不足的老年人易患抑郁症(depression),这是美国研究人员对多达3500个老年人进行为期12年的随访研究所得出的结论。
研究人员指出,维生素B6、B12摄入相对不足的老年人患抑郁症的风险较那些均衡营养的老年人高(Older adults with relatively low intakes of vitamins B6 and B12 may have a higher risk of developing depression than those who get more of the nutrients, a new study suggests)。
研究人员对三千五百名老年人进行为期十二年的随访研究发现,每天通过食物或增补品每增加维生素B6 10mg的摄入,可降低2%的抑郁症症状的发生或出现(esearchers found that among 3,500 older adults they followed for up to a dozen years, the risk of developing depression symptoms declined by 2 percent for every 10-milligram (mg) increase in daily vitamin B6 from food and supplements)。
维生素B12亦有类似于B6的功效(The same was true for every 10-microgram (mcg) increase in vitamin B12 intake)。
