2012年，艺术家Colette Miller在洛杉矶发起了全球天使之翼计划(Global Angel Wings Project)。Miller说：“我创造这个互动街头艺术天使之翼计划是为了告诉全人类我们都是地球的天使。”五彩缤纷的天使之翼首次出现在洛杉矶市中心艺术区。尽管没有任何宣传，但许多人却开始来此拍照，并在社交媒体上展示并分享相关照片。

由此，天使之翼活动开始在世界各地风靡起来。艺术家Colette Miller先后在洛杉矶及美国各地，甚至墨西哥、肯尼亚、澳大利亚等国都曾绘制过天使之翼。2015年6月，她在TEDx Culver City上发表了全球天使之翼计划的主题演讲。

最近，Miller重返了她第一次创作天使之翼的地方——艺术区的Traction和Hewitt街路口，并且在这里绘制了一对新的天使之翼。Miller说道：“洛杉矶是天使之城，通常以街头艺术和壁画著称。我的互动街头艺术天使之翼计划从这里开启最适合不过了。同时，全球天使之翼计划也建立在一座汇聚了众多不同国籍、不同语言及不同信仰的世界城市，正如只要我们愿意尝试，世界上的所有人都可以是善良的天使。”

同样坐落在艺术区的天使之城啤酒厂不仅有著名的精酿啤酒，还有大放光彩的街头艺术。除了Miller的天使之翼，这里其他如Antigirl的“洛杉矶之心”(Heart of Los Angeles)壁画以及JR创作的“城市皱纹”(Wrinkles Of The City)系列肖像壁画也相当引人注目，令人难忘。

位于洛杉矶市中心S. Main St. 446号丽晶剧院卷帘门上的天使之翼或许是出镜率最高的画作。洛杉矶备受赞誉的摄影师Gary Leonard曾经为数百位洛杉矶人拍摄过照片，其中就包括站在这些天使之翼前的市长埃里克•贾塞提(Eric Garcetti)。Leonard最近在天使之女天主教大教堂(Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels)举办的展览《City of Angels:Portraits》，展出了共计32张天使之翼的照片。

另一对天使之翼位于比弗利购物中心西三街8401号附近St. Regis Wine & Liquor商店的外面。这对展示于奥兰多大道(OrlandoAvenue)墙体上的天使之翼吸引了形形色色的路人，甚至还包括一位西斯大帝(Sith Lord)，显然这位西斯大帝并没有完全屈服于黑暗世界。

天使之翼通常是绘画作品，但2015年11月Miller在格伦代尔交通中心安装了一对由若干汽车轮胎钢带创作的天使之翼。这对钢制的天使之翼是为格伦代尔市创作的临时装置艺术，通过一个名为Art from the Ashes的公共艺术项目创作。
