Even when he leaves the court, National Basketball Association superstar Stephen Curry has nets on his mind.

Lifesaving anti-malarial nets, that is.

For the past four seasons, Curry has donated three nets for every three-point shot he makes. Now the superstar has teamed up with President Obama to support the President’s Malaria Initiative.

Already, the initiative has:

• Provided more than 14 million anti-malarial bed nets to keep people safe in sub-Saharan Africa.
• Worked with the governments of Zambia and Cambodia, as well as partner organizations, on plans to eradicate the disease in those nations in the near future.
• Proposed $200 million in new funding for Sierra Leone, Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon, expanding the initiative to 22 countries in Africa.

Since 2000, health initiatives like these have helped cut malaria’s child-mortality rate in half.
