In fact, the American women’s soccer team is now one of the best in the world, having won the Women’s World Cup in 1991 and 1999.
Today there are nearly 14 million soccer players in the United States, including 4 million youths. In fact, the United States now boasts more youth participants in soccer than any country in the world, and a 2012 poll indicated that soccer is the second most popular sport among Americans aged 12 to 24. With more young American players growing into adult fans, the United States is now one of the most promising growth areas for soccer.
