(Laboratory for Information and Decision System)和语言学与哲学系(Department of Linguistics and Philosophy)。

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is just one of more than 120 higher education institutions in the Bay State.
In the 1640s, the Massachusetts Bay Colony passed three laws that fundamentally changed the education system in the United States. Known as the Massachusetts School Laws, these legislative acts laid the foundation for mandatory public education and ushered in an era of educational firsts for the Bay State including the first public primary school (The Mather School), secondary school (Boston Latin School), boarding school (The Governor’s Academy) and college (Harvard University).
Massachusetts continues to set educational trends through institutions like the Ray and Maria Stata Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), pictured above. The center houses MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems and the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy.
The school estimates its alumni have founded more than 25,600 companies. These entrepreneurs employ 3.3 million people and generate nearly $2 trillion in revenue — enough to make this group the world’s 11th largest economy. But MIT is happy to share the wealth. The university leads the way in offering a global audience access to education through online coursework.
