这些话出自堪萨斯州莱内克萨（Lenexa）的初中生克拉拉·马（Clara Ma，上图）所写的一篇短文，该短文在美国国家航空航天局火星科学实验室（Mars Science Laboratory）赞助的一次命名比赛中胜出。航天局采纳了她的建议，把从地球登陆火星的最新使者命名为“好奇号”（Curiosity）。
“好奇号”于2011年11月发射，搭载“宇宙神”V号火箭，它将于今年8月5日登上火星，进行至少两年的火星探测。克拉拉·马将在位于加利福尼亚州帕萨迪纳市的国家航天局喷气推进实验室（Jet Propulsion Laboratory）观看“好奇号”的登上火星的过程。

NASA chose "Curiosity," the theme of middle-school student Clara Ma's essay, as the name of the Mars rover that will touch down on the planet August 5.
“Curiosity is an everlasting flame that burns in everyone’s mind. It makes me get out of bed in the morning and wonder what surprises life will throw at me that day.”
These words from an essay by middle-school student Clara Ma of Lenexa, Kansas, won a naming contest sponsored by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Mars Science Laboratory. With her win, the space agency gave the name “Curiosity” to its latest emissary from Earth to Mars.
Launched in November 2011, aboard an Atlas V booster, Curiosity will touch down on Mars on August 5 for a minimum of two years of roving the Martian landscape. When it touches down, Ma, pictured, will be closely watching at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
“We will never know everything there is to know, but with our burning curiosity, we have learned so much,” Ma wrote at the conclusion of her essay.
