A League of Their Own is a 1991 American comedy-drama film that tells a fictionalized account of the real-life All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). The movie takes place in a period of time where gender inequality was still evident widespread and females were still discouraged from taking part in certain activities. In a small town in Oregon, two sisters join the first female professional baseball league and strive to help it succeed, while struggling with their own sibling rivalry.

The film was directed by Penny Marshall, and the screenplay was written by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel, from a story by Kim Wilson and Kelly Candaele.
