(American Association for the Advancement of Science)邀请的专家组成的评委会进行评选。

A team from Butte College in California (above) wants to build
houses from rice hulls, and a panel of experts thinks it’s a
winning idea.
Rice hulls are an abundant agricultural waste material. Using them
as building material could reduce the use of conventional
construction materials, have a positive environmental impact by
reducing the need to burn rice hulls left

The Butte team was a winner in the Environmental Protection
Agency’s (EPA) P3 program for 2012.
Each year, the EPA challenges university students to take steps that lead to a more sustainable future. P3 stands for "people, prosperity and the planet."
In spring, teams bring their projects to Washington for judging by
a panel of experts convened by the American Association for the
Advancement of Science. Judging takes place at the annual National
Sustainable Design Expo on the National Mall.
Their win gives the Butte team grant funding up to $90,000 to improve the project design, implement it in the field, and move it to the marketplace.
