美国文化与民族的多样性

美国以其文化与民族的多样性而引以自豪。在诸如纽约和加利福尼亚州等地方，民族的多样性是显而易见的。通常食品、风俗习惯以及传统被互相吸收和共享，不同文化和理念的融合使美国人民可以汲取不同的思维方式，以解决存在的问题。人们很多时候通过观看好莱坞电影及不同媒体了解美国，实际上，我们从好莱坞看到的情形是虚构的，而不是真实的。当游客和新移民来到美国时，他们有时会诧异于美国的真实情况与他们在电视及电影所见的是如此不同。初来美国的人们也对美国神奇的多样性表现出浓厚兴趣。在本次讲座中，我们试图就美国多样性的一些有趣之处进行解释说明。

主讲人 Cray Staggs

Senior ELF at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications

Cray Staggs is the Senior English Language Fellow for China.  He is a returning fellow who has recently completed a project in China at the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  He is excited to return to China to do some awesome projects, learn more about the Chinese culture, and improve his Chinese.  Cray has worked mainly in Latin America.  He has done projects with the Paraguayan Ministry of Education, National University of Paraguay, U.S. Embassy in Asuncion, Chilean Ministry of Education, and the Chilean Department of Agriculture.  While in college, he studied abroad in Brazil and Chile.  In 2004, Cray went to Brazil for one year as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar and taught English at the State University of Ceara.  He graduated with a BA from UCLA in Spanish and Linguistics and with an MA from Long Beach State in Linguistics and TESL.  Go Bruins!  Go Beach!
