清平调 ［唐］李白 云想衣裳花想容，春风拂槛露华浓。若非群玉山头见，会向瑶台月下逢。
注：《太真外传》：开元中，禁中重木芍药，即今牡丹也，得数本红紫浅红通白者，上因植于兴庆池东沉香亭前。会花方繁开，上乘照夜白，妃以步辇从。诏进梨园弟子中尤者，得乐十六色。李龟年以歌擅一时之名，手捧檀板，押众乐前，将欲歌之。上曰：“赏名花，对妃子，焉用旧乐词为？”遂命龟年持金花笺，宣赐翰林学士李白立进《清平乐》词三篇。承旨，犹苦宿酲，因援笔赋之。第一首：“云想衣裳花想容，春风拂槛露华浓。若非群玉山头见，会向瑶台月下逢。”第二首：“一枝红艳露凝香，云雨巫山妄断肠。借问汉宫谁得似？可怜飞燕倚新妆。”第三首：“名花倾国两相欢，长得君王带笑看。解释春风无限恨，沉香亭北倚栏干。”龟年捧词进，上命梨园弟子略约词调，抚丝竹，遂促龟年以歌。妃持玻璃七宝杯，酌西凉州葡萄酒，笑领歌，意甚厚。上因调玉笛以倚曲。每曲遍将换，则迟其声以媚之。妃饮罢，敛绣巾再拜。上自是顾李翰林尤异于他学士。
To the Tune Purity and Peace

Summoned by Emperor Xuanzong (685-762, r.
713-756) to the Imperial Garden where the Emperor and his favarite
concubine Yang Yuhuan (Known as Yang Guifei 杨贵妃) were admiring the
peonies at their best, Li Bai (701-762) wrote an
impromptu cycle of three poems，celebrateing the beauty of both the
flowers and Yang Guifei. The Emperor was very
happy with the work and ordered it be set into tune. Shortly
afterwards it was finished and the Emperor played the tune on his
flute, accompanied by the singing of the court singsong girls. The
above poem is the first of the three.

Li Bai
Her robe is made of cloud, her face of flower
made,
Caressed by vernal breeze freshened by morning
dew,
Charming as Fairy Queen in her Mountain of
Jade
Or Goddess of the Moon in her palace
sky-blue.
