(Night Hiking via Golden Sand Ridge)

The moon glows into trees, shocked magpies fly,

The breeze-bathed night echoes cicadas’ voice,

In their coming harvest the sweet paddies rejoice,

For which the frogs choir, the best sound of choice. 

The stars, seven or eight, blink in the sky,

The drizzle-drops, round the ridges, two or three.

A thatched-roof inn beside the shrine’s woods there should be,

Which, at a sharp turn by the bridge, I see.
