身世浑如水上鸥，又携竹杖过南州。　　

饭囊傍晚盛残月，歌板临风唱晓秋。

两脚踢翻尘世界，一肩挑尽古今愁。

而今不食嗟来食，黄犬何须吠不休。

Oh my whole life like the seagulls’ no one would know;

Again with my bamboo cane I trudge to Nanzhou.

The dusk beholds the gloomy moonlight fill my bowl,

The dawn lists my clappers clap as fall wind doth blow.

I kick the dusty world over with my two feet,

For I have carried enough present and past woe.

From now on I will never have to beg for food,

So no yellow dogs would bark at me to and fro.
