多么精彩的一个运动日！体育老师非常出色的组织了田径项目和活动项目，我们打破了班级和年龄的局限，以学院为小组的形式，开心地完成了各种活动。

    本次运动日的主题是“合作”、“参与”和“尽力”。这些都是孩子们需要学习的重要原则，在运动会的过程中，他们也得到了很多合作、参与和尽力的机会。不仅如此，孩子们还懂得了输赢不那么重要——重在参与。很高兴看到这么多家长与老师前来参与。根据比赛成绩，我们评选出了总冠军。这是我们对孩子们在比赛中的努力和拼搏的一种肯定。祝贺夏天学院在此次体育活动日中获得学院杯！

    我们在运动会当天都度过了美好的时光，特别是值得一提的是看到家长积极地参与亲子活动，真令人高兴。

    What a great Sports Day we had today. Mr Michael and Mrs Michelle did a fantastic job organising the races and activities. Students participated in groups by House, allowing them to cooperate with students outside their class and in other year groups.

    We had as our themes "cooperation", "participation" and "trying your best". These are important principles for our children to learn and they had many opportunities to cooperate, participate and try their best. They also had other important lessons to learn; to lose gracefully and to respect the decisions of the teachers in charge.

The children all competed well and enjoyed the activities. They all came to realise that it's not the winning or losing that's important it's the taking part. It was wonderful to see so many parents attending and taking part. Congratulations to Summer House in winning the House Cup for Sports Day.

    We all had a wonderful time and I enjoyed watching the events immensely. It was particularly rewarding to see so many parents joining their children on the race track. 

    The first award is very important in the development of the key competency of participating and contributing. Children need to participate in events and take risks in competing. They also need to work as part of a team - taking turns, sharing, encouraging their team-mates and trying to do their best for their house. The second award gives children a sense of achievement but both are recognised as vital in the development of the whole child here at YK Pao School.
