本周我们一起度过了一个真正意义的数学周。家庭数学派对由加州大学伯克利分校劳伦斯科学馆发起，是一项让家长和孩子一起学习数学的活动，强调培养孩子们对数学的自信和通过老师与家长的共同反馈来鼓励孩子。一、二年级的孩子们开展了家庭数学派对，此外我们的学生还参加了世界数学日的活动。非常感谢前来参加我们首次家庭数学派对的所有家长。家长和孩子们一起做数学游戏、体验数学给我们带来的无穷乐趣、一起分享美食，是件多么的美好的事情！在周三的世界数学日，校数学组组织全体学生参加了世界数学日的一项活动--数学竞赛，所有的学生都前往计算机实验室在线参加了此次竞赛，与世界其他地区同年龄的孩子比试心算。令人高兴的是我校许多学生都表现出色，赢得了比赛并获得了特别的证书。

    We have had a real maths week, this week. We started our Family Maths evenings with P1 and P2 and our children also took part in World Maths Day. Family Maths was started by the Lawrence Hall of Science at the University of California Berkeley. It is a programme focusing on parents and children learning maths together - emphasising children being confident doing mathematics and being encouraged by positive feedback from both teachers and parents. Thank you to all the parents who attended our first Family maths evening. It was so nice to see parents and children playing maths games together and having FUN! We shared lots of delicious food as well! Then on Wednesday it was World Maths Day. The maths team had arranged for all our children to take part in a mathematics competition run as part of World Maths Day and all the children duly went to the ICT lab and logged on. Our children competed with children of the same-age from all over the world in mental arithmetic. Many of our children won their matches and did very well in this competition and received a special certificate to recognise this.
