今年，学校本着自愿参加的原则，对学生进行了有针对性和有组织的培训，带领孩子们参加了一些有意义的圣诞节演出，让孩子们在展现自己才能，增强自信, 得到锻炼的同时也给学校争得了荣誉。

    圣诞前夕，我校部分学生与来自德国国际学校的学生一起应邀参加了欧洲十国大使馆在时代广场举办的盛大的圣诞树点灯活动，演唱了“The twelve days of Christmas”, “Old Christmas tree”等众多圣诞歌曲。孩子们训练有素的精彩表演，以及谦和有礼的成熟表现，博得了在场观众的热烈掌声。演唱结束后，不少大使连夸孩子们聪明懂事，可爱伶俐，热情邀请孩子们参加使馆以后的圣诞活动。

    另有部分孩子参加了今年刚刚开业的上海最新的五星级酒店半岛酒店的圣诞点灯仪式，他们的演唱同样获得了现场观众的一致好评。

    一位学生家长反馈说：这样的活动，让爱唱歌爱表演的孩子有了更多表演机会，而且能代表学校出去表演，孩子觉得十分自豪。

    Musical performances over the Christmas period is something that children and parents look forward to every year.  Performing in the community is a social activity that we strongly encourage our students to take part in: being brave enough to get up and sing to welcome the arrival of Christmas.

    This year, many students were involved in these activities.  This was a good opportunity for students to show their developing singing skills and build confidence.  In these wonderful performances, the students really raised the profile of the School.

On Christmas Eve, students of YK Pao School, along with students of German International School took part in a ‘tree lighting ceremony’ at Times Square, organised by the Consulates of ten European countries.  Among others, they sang the well-known Christmas carols ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ and ‘Oh Christmas Tree’.  The students’ performances were a great success, and the audience commented on their smart attire, maturity and lovely singing.  After the performances, Consuls General attending the event praised the student performances and welcomed them to participate in more Christmas events in years to come.

    Some students also took part at a ‘tree lighting ceremony’ at the Peninsula, a newly opened 5-star hotel.

    A parent commented that this kind of activity offered the perfect opportunity for students who love singing and love performing.  At the same time, they can be proud to be representing the School.
