From old times how many ups and downs bygone? (B)

Unknown, for long it’s been going on (B)

Like the ceaseless Yangzi River running on (B)

年少万兜鍪，坐断东南战未休。

天下英雄谁敌手？曹刘。生子当如孙仲谋。

General Sun* rules millions of armies, young despite (C)

He’s conquered the south-east region to keep fight (C)

For this super hero, who could be his enemy one? (D)

The glorious name, only CaoCao and Liubei have won (D)

Alas, an expected son should be like General Sun (D)

I gaze beyond the Northern Tower in vain.

It has seen dynasties fall and rise

As time flies

Or as the endless river rolls before my eyes.

While young,

Sun had ten thousand men at his command;

Steeled in battles, he defended the southeastern land.

Among his equals in the world, who were heroer true

But Cao and Liu?

And even

Cao would have a son like Sun Zhongmou.
