In the morning misty clouds shadow the sky

As Milk Way turns countless boats wave high

My soul returns to heaven in a dream as though

Hearing God kindly asks me where I’ll go

我报路长嗟日暮。学诗谩有惊人句。

九万里风鹏正举。风休住。蓬舟吹取三山去。

I reply with my long journey and sigh a day late

But my poetic talent pays off without a good fate

A roc is soaring up in the unbounded sky, lo

Oh, gale, please don’t stop to blow

Send my boat to Penglai Three Mountains so

*Penglai Three Mountains are fabled abodes of immortals.
