I'm writing to give you feedback from a parent's
perspective and to compliment your school for the thoughtful way
you have continued to keep him excited about the prospect of
attending Seton Hall. Ryan has been accepted into
several other schools but none have done better than Seton Hall at
communicating; keeping him involved and interested; inviting him to
programs, chat sessions and events and motivating him to attend.
And even though Ryan is still waiting to hear
from a few other schools, I thought you might appreciate what he
said. A few days ago, Ryan was presenting his
senior project to his high school teachers. When
one asked him what his plans were after graduation – he replied
that he is a "Seton Hall Pirate."
As parents, this has been very comforting to us,
especially since he is considering heading completely across
country to attend your university. And if this is
the way your entire university is run - I am confident he will be
well served.
I have been a good evangelist for SHU. I
have shared with other parents how responsive SHU has been and the
recruiting process. I worked at a few large
companies here in Seattle – one a (very) successful coffee start-up
called Starbucks. I led their supply chain
partner (human) resource organization. I have
learned a lot watching how you have managed this process.
I remain very impressed and you have given me
some excellent ideas about how we should be recruiting top
talent.
