2018年4月3日，河南许昌西湖公园内牡丹苑，牡丹应节绽放，引得不少游人在此赏花、拍照。

位于许昌市中心的西湖公园占地18万平方米的小西湖，因其面积小于杭州西湖，风景又非常美丽，故而得名小西湖。宋代诗人苏轼曾写诗赞美：“西湖虽小亦西子”，距今已有1800年多年的历史。小西湖湖边是各式亭台楼阁、岸边杨柳随风轻舞，湖道曲径通幽。

4月，进入盛花期的牡丹开着雍容华贵、娇艳俏丽的花朵吸引市民纷纷前来观看拍照。

据了解，公园内现有牡丹品种7种，近2000株牡丹。最早开放的牡丹是4月初。盛花期一月有余。牡丹的寓意是富贵吉祥、繁荣昌盛。看园内那一株株一朵朵绽放的如此娇美。白色牡丹一个贴着一个花瓣向人们献媚着；红色牡丹在绿叶的衬托下绽放着妩媚的笑容；粉色牡丹那花团紧凑的模样薄的透明的花瓣香气泌人心脾。素有花中之王之称的牡丹，贵有国色天香。那红白粉紫、花朵重瓣、姿丰典雅、花香袭人、煞是好看。
