博士到底具备哪些基本的科研能力？
- 良好的口头表达能力：The student should do an excellent job in defending his or her dissertation in a public forum open to the faculty of the University. Excellent delivery including eye contact, pace, professional language, enthusiasm. Organized and easy to follow. Clear slides or other visual aids. Answers to questions demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the topic.
- 良好的写作表达能力：Dissertation is very well organized (paragraphs are logically and coherently build upon each other). Engaging introduction (opening of paper clearly and effectively introduces the main idea). Professional language. Clear and smooth transitions between topics (coherence devices are present and enhance the reader's understanding). Correct grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
- 扎实的文献综述能力：The review of the background information and related research is comprehensive and drawn from reliable and up to date journals, reports, or textbooks. The review presents an excellent understanding of the problem and provides a clear rationale for the project objectives and a synthesis of the relevant literature.
- 科学的研究理论方法：The project design follows logically from the objectives. The process by which the data were generated, gathered, recorded and analyzed is appropriate and clearly described. For theoretical properties, a sound analysis including model development, calibration and verification is provided. Conceptual model is based on a sophisticated understanding of underlying mechanisms of the most important mechanisms and processes. Model prediction or explanations are consistent with critical observations.
- 严谨的提炼观点能力：All findings build logically from the problem statement, objectives, and methods. All salient data and/or model results are accounted for. The interpretations and conclusions are strongly supported by the results. Clear presentation of the implications on public health, the environment, and/or the society.
